1 Setting Up Your Development Environment
Lotus Expeditor Integrator 6.2.1 platform benefits from several tooling enhancements that make it easier for Expeditor and Integrator developers to create and debug applications for deployment to the Integrator platform. This article describes how to setup your development environment for Integrator.
Setting Up Your Development Environment
The steps below provide guidance on how to get started with the development environment:
Download and install Eclipse 3.4.2. Linux or Windows builds (depending on which OS you are running Integrator on)
Download and install any tooling prerequisites (for example, if you want web tooling support install WTP).
Download and install the Expeditor Integrator 6.2.1 build.
Download and install the Expeditor Toolkit 6.2.1 build into your Eclipse SDK.
Once you've installed Expeditor Toolkit 6.2.1 and restarted the Eclipse SDK, you will be prompted to setup the Lotus Expeditor Toolkit Configuration. To do so:
Select the
Configure test environment
check box
Select
Lotus Expeditor Integrator
from the
Test Environment
dropdown box.
The
Target Location
field is automatically set to C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Integrator\rcp\eclipse (on Windows) or /opt/ibm/lotus/Integrator (on Linux). Update the location if necessary.
Leave the
VM Name
field unchanged. It is automatically set to
Java SE 6.0 Win32 x86 (com.ibm.rcp.j2sewin32.x86)
or the Linux equivalent.
The
Compiler Compliance Level
field is automatically set to
1.6
. Change to
1.5
, if necessary.
Decide whether or not you want the Toolkit Configuration dialog panel to popup each time and then click
OK
.
Once the configuration entry settings have been applied, navigate to
Windows > Preferences > Plug-in Development > Target Platform.
From here:
Verify that the Integrator installation location is correct in the
Location
dropdown box.
Select
Enable All
and then click
OK
.
Once the target platform settings have been applied, navigate to
Windows > Preferences > Client Services > Development
. From here:
Set the
Target
dropdown box value to
Integrator
Ensure that you select
Integrator
in the
Select the Targets to be available for development
box.
Ensure that you select the
Enable
checkbox in the
User-Defined Features
box.
Click
OK
.
Next, create a Run/Debug configuration for Integrator:
Navigate to
Run > Run Configurations...
Select
Client Services
, then the
New launch configuration
icon
In the
Main
tab, provide a name for your launch configuration in the
Name
text box.
Select the workspace data location for your launch configuration in the
Location
text box.
Ensure that you are running the launch configuration as an application and set the
Application
entry to com.ibm.rcp.integrator.application.IntegratorApplication.
Use the default JRE entry.
Navigate to the
Target
tab and verify that the Target is set to
Integrator
.
Navigate to the
Arguments
tab and add or modify arguments as necessary. Use caution when altering arguments in this tab.
Select
Apply
and then select
Run
. Alternatively, you can debug from
Run > Debug Configurations...
